Mike M,
Can you post a bit about how your 'draft' went?
How did you do it administratively...which wrestlers were selected where?
Thanks
Graymar

Graymar- I'll break Kayfabe on this one occasion We held a "snake"-style draft. We toyed with the idea of an auction, but this was much simpler from an admistrative standpoint, and it also made it easier to conduct the draft, since everyone could log on and make their picks as necessary. I'd say that generally, this draft went like most. Initially, the 'best' wrestlers were chosen by the feds- although that's obviously in the eye of the beholder. There were then 'runs' on tag teams, followed by runs on managers. There was even a run on enhancement talent towards the end of the draft. There were a few 'upper card' guys that didn't get picked right away, mostly because of 1 of 2 reasons: 1. There was a run on other types of talent (managers, tag teams, etc) that knocked them down a few spots. 2. That particular wrestler didn't fit into the promoter's plans- Don Leo Jonathan was a perfect example of this. He was the 96th pick overall out of 108 picks total. He was picked coming after Cousin Luke, SD Jones, Wild Red Berry and Timber (the four picks immediately preceding him). We allowed promotions to pick tag teams (from an 'official' list), but if you picked a tag team, you had to forfeit your next pick (since you were getting 2 guys). Here's how the first two rounds went: 1. HWA - Frank Gotch 2. EWF - Nick Bockwinkel 3. CCW - Bruiser Brody 4. WCCW - Harley Race 5. WCCW - The Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton, counts as 2nd and 3rd Round Picks) 6. CCW - The Sheik 7. EWF - Buddy Rogers 8. HWA - Ivan Koloff You'll note that these first two rounds really capture the spirit of the individual promotions as you read them (as an example, the CCW has a TON of hardcore performers). It actually worked out really well, as I think everyone got a number of wrestlers that they wanted.
