Following the announcements of the previous two days in which Buddy Rogers won Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) award for Best Wrestler in 2006 and the Midnight Express received the award for best Tag Team, it is now time for MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino today to announce the recipients of Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) Most Popular and Most Hated wrestlers!
Most Popular: The Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras). No other wrestlers on Major League Wrestling's roster sold more merchandise or had more signs in the crowd for them than the duo of Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras. Teaming together to defeat 39 other tag teams in the Sammartino Invitational, Brazil and Mascaras captured the support of crowds wherever they wrestled. Brazil and Mascaras' popularity only surged when Brazil defeated Nick Bockwinkel for the World Championship and Mascaras fully supported Brazil by accompanying Brazil to ringside for title defenses and even helping Brazil retain his World Championship from Bockwinkel in the main event triple threat match at Cyber Sunday.
Honorable mention: A) Road Warriors- Since disavowing themselves from their manager Killer Kowalski shortly after the Sammartino Invitational, the Road Warriors have received more cheers than anyone on the NWA brand of MLW. B) The Crusher- MLW fans support The Crusher's ambitions to overcome the rest if the obstacles placed in front f him from the rest of the Heenan Family and to finally secure a title shot against current World Champion Nick Bockwinkel. C) Frank Gotch- MLW fans rallied behind Gotch in his pursuit of and brief reign with the World Championship.
Most Hated: Buddy Rogers. The most arrogant wrestler in Major League Wrestling drew the wrath of fans everywhere for comments such as telling them "I've had more title reigns than you've had pieces of a*s" and for threatening violence against his former valet Maxine Babe earlier this year when he told her "Toots, you need to go before I slap you down like a domino."
Honorable Mention: A) Killer Kowalski- The leader if the Dungeon of Doom, Kowalski bit off the ear of Yukon Eric and wore it around his neck. After Yukon Eric failed to win his ear back from Kowalski in the first-ever ear match at Backlash, Kowalski continued to posses the ear and still has it today after defeating Yukon Eric in a ladder match at Saturday Night's main Event in which Yukon Eric's severed ear was the prize dangling above the ring. B) Nick Bockwinkel- was the top member of the despised Heenan Family. C) Larry Zbyszko- Nobody earned more jeers on the AWA brand of MLW than did the arrogant and foul-mouthed host if Larry Land.
Be sure to check back in tomorrow when the awards for Biggest Surprise and Best PPV are announced!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) tonight concludes its year-end award ceremony tonight as MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino is set to announce the recipients of Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) Biggest Surprise and Best PPV awards!
Biggest Surprise: The Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell). Managed by Cassandra, the Heart Thrashers shocked wrestling fans around the world by becoming the first-ever MLW Tag Team Champions by winning a tag team tournament of AWA brand tag teams in July that included tag teams such as the Killer Bees, the Vachons (the current MLW Tag Team Champions), former United States Tag Team Champions the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, and the Double Axe Attack. The heart Thrashers then went on to defend their MLW Tag Team Championship from July until November when it took a non-traditional tag team turmoil match at Cyber Sunday for them to lose their titles.
Honorable Mention: The Valentines On the NWA brand that includes great tag teams such as the Road Warriors , the Midnight Express, current World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos, Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki, and the Armstrongs, the Valentines are the current United States Tag Team Champions and have held this championship since winning them against the Regulators (Dick Hutton and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr) at the Great American Bash back in July.
Best PPV:The Sammartino Invitational. The Sammartino Invitational established Major League Wrestling (MLW) as a respectable fed as it seemed the entire world turned in to see the results of this four day tag team tournament comprised of 40 tag teams-25 of which were made up of wrestlers on MLW's active roster and 15 of which were visiting tag teams champions representing their outside territories. Although the Road Warriors and the Midnight Express were among the final four tag teams, it was the Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) who defeated Dan "the Beast" Severn and Giant Baba in the Final Round to win the Sammartino Invitational.
Honorable Mention: Summer Slam- Summer Slam was the first PPV Major League Wrestling had since it \s brand split in July. The 10 match lineup featured wrestlers from both the AWA and the NWA brands and was arguably the greatest lineup so far in Major League Wrestling's history. The matches included Mil Mascaras defeating his friend and fellow tag team partner in the Brothers of Other Mothers in Bobo Brazil, Giant Baba defeating Harley Race by DQ, the Road Warriors defeating Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams in the first-ever matchup of the two teams, Ivan Koloff defeating MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino, the Midnight Express defeating the Fabulous Kangaroos 2-1 in a best 2 out of 3 falls and 3 on 2 handicap match to retain the World Tag Team Championship, World Champion Nick Bockwinkel defeating Jim Londos, and Buddy Rogers winning both falls against Frank Gotch and Diamond Dallas Page in a two falls triple threat match to retain both the MLW Championship and the United States Championship!

Agreed about Beefcake and Bagwell being the big surprises. Personally, I think they have some unflattering pics of you in some casino in Vegas and are blackmailing you for a nice push in your fed!

You can't trust him... all the Memphis propaganda! Just kidding, Trav! Hey now! Memphis never got coverage in those mags because they weren't big sellers in our territory! Lawler had to beg Apter and send him stuff to put in the magazines. But from some tales I've heard, the % of the votes were legit of the Year End Awards, it was the amount of votes that weren't (they were greatly inflated to make it seem like they had more readers)

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW PREVIEW for Saturday January 6, 2006 from Mexico City, Mexico
With just one day to go before the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) presents New Years Revolution in Puerto Rico, there will be a special edition of AWA:RAW this Saturday night from Mexico City!
Larry Hennig vs Ox Baker One night before teaming with the Crusher to take on the tag team of King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker who together attacked and put his son Curt Hennig on the injured list, Larry Hennig will take on Baker in a singles match. Larry Hennig and Baker will be accompanied to the ring for this match by their partners at New Years Revolution in The Crusher and King Kong Bundy respectively.
MLW Tag Team Vachons and their manager Wild "Red" Berry vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff and their manager Nikita Breznikov. One night before the Vachons defend their MLW Tag Team Championship against the Iron Sheik and Volkoff in a best 2 out of 3 falls match at New Year's Revolution, these two teams will first meet in a non-title six man tag team match with their managers as their teammates.
Jimmy Snuka, Yukon Eric, Cousin Luke, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko, the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell), and Gorgeous George in an 8 man tag team match. As a result of an orchestrated ambush by the Heart Thrashers and George upon Yukon Eric, Cousin Luke, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan on Larry Land and resulting brawl that saw Snuka get involved last week on AWA:RAW, these 8 men will square off together in the same match one night before New Years Revolution when Zbyszko defends his Intercontinental Championship against Snuka and Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke wrestle George and the Heart Thrashers in a 6 man tag team elimination match.
In addition, all 6 competitors in New Year's Revolution main event elimination chamber match for the World Championship will be in action as:
Jim Londos will wrestle Don Muraco in singles competition
and
The Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) team up to take on World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Don Leo Jonathan!
Finally, on the eve of New Year's Revolution, will there be any additional matches announced for the PPV?
All this and more this week on AWA:RAW of Major League Wrestling!
MLW Spokesman Splatter says: "Major League Wrestling (MLW). Don't you DARE miss it!"

With now just 1 day to go until the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) presents New Years Revolution in Puerto Rico, it is now time for AWA:RAW from Mexico City, Mexico!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Saturday January 6, 2007 (broadcast date) in Mexico City, Mexico (First Half of the show)
Match #1: Don Muraco (managed by Sherri Martel) defeated Jim Londos
--Londos and Muraco are 2 of the 6 wrestlers competing in the Elimination Chamber for the World Championship on tomorrow night's main event at New Year's Revolution.
-Muraco started off the match by challenging Londos to put his right to enter the Elimination Chamber match last (Londos won this on a previous edition of AWA:RAW by having the best time in a series of beat the clock matches) on the line in their match tonight. Muraco held out his hand to offer to Londos to shake and agree to Muraco's request but Londos instead gave Muraco a snapmare to start the match. Londos then mockingly offered his hand to Muraco. Muraco tried to shake it but Londos instead gave Muraco a wristlock takedown. Muraco was able to make a comeback and controlled most of the match despite having to kick out of an AIRPLANE SPIN by Londos later in the match. The end came when Martel gave Londos a low blow near the ropes and Muraco then hit him with a vertical suplex to get the 3 count.
-After the match, Muraco told Londos he was smart not to put his right to enter the Elimination Chamber last at New Year's Revolution tomorrow night on the line tonight but it won't matter once Londos gets hit with the HAWAIIAN HAMMER tomorrow evening.
Backstage: Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez is interviewed and says she is calling out all the other women (Martel and Cassandra) here on the AWA brand to face her at New Year's Revolution where she will put the Ladies Championship on the line in a triple threat elimination match.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons and their manager Wild "Red" Berry defeated the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and their manager Nikita Breznikov in a 6 man non-title tag team match.
-This match is being held on the eve of New Year's Revolution where the Vachons will defend their MLW Tag Team Championship against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff in a best 2 out of 3 falls match. Both the Iron Sheik and Volkoff have been successful in recent weeks in singles action against the Vachons but tonight's match is a 6 man tag team match in which the managers Berry and Breznikov join the tag teams they manage in the Vachons and the Iron Sheik and Volkoff respectively in action.
-In this match, both teams had a great opportunity to win the match as Breznikov found himself trapped alone in the ring against Butcher Vachon and later Berry found himself trapped alone in the ring against the Iron Sheik. But in both cases, Breznikov and Berry managed to escape by making a defensive tag. The end came when Mad Dog Vachon pinned the Iron Sheik via an airplane spin. Will this be this same result tomorrow at New Year's Revolution or will the Iron Sheik and Volkoff become the new MLW Tag Team Champions?
Backstage: Antonino Rocca walks up to Ray Stevens
Rocca: "Stevens, you didn't answer my challenge for a match tomorrow night at at New Year's Revolution. But I just got it approved by MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino."
Stevens: "I thought you already had a match tomorrow night. Didn't Ida Mae Martinez call out all of the women here on the AWA brand?"
Rocca: "Stevens, last time on AWA:RAW, your interference cost me a shot at the World Championship. Tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution it is time for me to get my pay back even if I have to break your back in my ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER."
Match #3: Larry Hennig (accompanied by The Crusher) defeated Ox Baker (accompanied by King Kong Bundy and managed by Bobby Heenan).
-In this match Larry Hennig was accompanied by The Crusher who will team with him tomorrow night at New year's Revolution against Baker and Bundy (who is accoampanying Baker to the ring for tonight's amtch) who together put Hennig's son Curt Hennig on the injured list a couple of weeks ago on AWA:RAW.
-In this match, Heenan interfered early by distracting Larry Hennig who was then attacked by the Baker who almost got the pinfall via a deathjump. Outraged at this blatant interference, the Crusher went over to the other side of the ring where, to the cheers of the Mexico City crowd, he gave Heenan a CRUSHER BOLO and then proceeded to brawl with Bundy. Meanwhile, in the ring, Larry Hennig managed to battle back and pin Baker via an elbow drop. What will happen tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution when Larry Hennig and The Crusher team up to take on the two Heenan Family members, Baker and Bundy, who injured Curt Hennig?
Backstage: Koko B. Ware is seen walking down the hall with Frankie on his arm when he is suddenly attacked from behind with a wild chair shot by the Missing Link. The Missing Link proceeds to pummel Ware before grabbing Frankie who he then tries to eat. Frankie manages to get away but the Missing link is seen chasing after him down the hall while Ware is still lying unconscious on the floor.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include Jimmy Snuka, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko, Gorgeous George, and the Heart Thrashers (Buff Bagwell and Brutus Beefcake) in an 8 man tag team match and the Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Don Leo Jonathan! Also, will the Missing Link catch and eat Frankie? Find out in the Second Half.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Saturday January 6, 2007 (broadcast date) in Mexico City, Mexico (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Match #4: Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko (accompanied by Cowboy Bob Orton Jr), the Heart Thrashers (managed by Cassandra), and Gorgeous George defeated Jimmy Snuka, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke in an 8 man tag team match.
-this match features a combination of opponents who will meet tomorrow at New Year's Revolution when Zbyszko defends his Intercontinental Championship against Snuka and Yukon Eric, and Duggan team up together against the Heart Thrashers and George in a six man elimination tag match.
- Except for some impressive offense displayed by Snuka, most of this match was controlled by the team of Zbyszko, the Heart Thrashers, and George who won when Buff Bagwell pinned Yukon Eric via his BUFF BLOCKBUSTER.
Wrestlemania Advertisement: An advertisement is shown reminding everyone that Major League Wrestling's one-year anniversary occurs in late March and will be celebrated by Wrestlemania- the biggest card in the history of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
The announcers then mention that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino will announce the location of Wrestlemania in an interview with Bill Apter tomorrow evening at New Year's Revolution!
Backstage: Frankie is shown still flying away from the Missing Link who is trying to catch him after trying to eat him in the first half of tonight's show. As Frankie is flying, he is suddenly caught in a cage by a man wearing a jacket and tie along with a hat and dark sunglasses. While holding Frankie in the cage, The man then turns around to a nearby reporter and identifies himself as Abdullah Farouk.
Farouk: "My name is Abdullah Farouk and I'm here in Major League wrestling as a manager and the first wrestler I have under contract is the Missing Link here."
Farouk: "Because I want to start my managerial career here off with a bang, I also want to announce I have secured a match for the Missing Link for tomorrow at New Year's Revolution. I got MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino to agree that I could get the Missing Link in a ladder match against an opponent of our choice with the prize hanging above the ring to be of my choosing."
Farouk: "So tell Koko B. Ware when he wakes up that I have birdnapped Frankie and to get him back he will have to win a ladder match against the Missing Link at New Year's Revolution tomorrow as Frankie in this cage will be the prize hanging above the ring!"
New Year's Revolution (presented by the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling) Sunday January 8, 2007 from Puerto Rico

Hot Seat: MLW Chairman announces the location of Wrestlemania.
Match #6: The Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) defeated World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Don Leo Jonathan (managed by Bobby Heenan).
- this match featured the other 4 wrestlers (Londos and Muraco were in the first match tonight in the First Half) competing in the Elimination Chamber match for Bockwinkel's World Championship tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution.
--the tag team experience of Brazil and Mascaras together was evident in the match as they displayed the better chemistry and controlled most of the action. The end came when Brazil pinned Bockwinkel via a COCO BUTT,
-As Brazil and Mascaras celebrate their victory to the thunderous cheers of the crowd in Mexico City, the announcers remark that if this same result happens tomorrow night in the Elimination Chamber then there will be a new World Champion. The announcers also ask, what if the Brothers of Other Mothers (Brazil and Mascaras) are the last two men in the Elimination Chamber tomorrow night with the World Championship on the line in a match in which there can only be one winner?
As the Brothers of Other Mothers continue to receive the cheers of the crowd, the show comes to an end.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) New Year's Revolution (presented by the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling) PREVIEW for Sunday January 8, 2007 from Puerto Rico
1. World Champion Nick Bockwinkel vs Bobo Brazil vs Mil Mascaras vs Don Leo Jonathan vs Jim Londos vs Don Muraco in an Elimination Chamber match for the World Championship. This is the first-ever Elimination Chamber match in the history of Major League Wrestling (MLW). Although fellow Heenan Family member Don Leo Jonathan will be in this match, the odds are stacked against Nick Bockwinkel being able to retain his World Championship. As the winner of a series of Beat the Clock matches on a previous edition of RAW, Jim Londos has won the strategic advantage of entering the Elimination Chamber last while the entry of the other 5 participants will be determined randomly. Friends and partners in the tag team The Brothers of Other Mothers, Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras could also have a strong advantage in this match by working together. But, since there must be a single winner, what will happen if it comes down to Brazil and Mascaras in the end?
2. Jimmy Snuka vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko The intense hatred between these two men began on an episode of Larry Land when Zbyszko hit Snuka in the head with a coconut after Snuka challenged Zbyszko's body guard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr to a match for the automatic title shot that Orton Jr won by being among the survivors in his match at the Survivor Series. On the following edition of RAW, Snuka defeated Orton Jr for that automatic title shot which he decided to use against Zbyszko at New Year's Revolution. Will Zbyszko's reign as Intercontinental Champion that started last summer at Summer Slam continue or will Snuka become the new Intercontinental Champion at New Year's Revolution?
3. MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff in a best 2 out of 3 falls match Former United States Tag Team Champions the Iron Sheik and Volkoff won this title match be defeating the other tag teams in the AWA brand in an elimination match on the edition of RAW following Survivor Series. In recent episodes of RAW, the Iron Sheik and Volkoff have looked good against the Vachons in singles action and look to give the Vachons trouble in their attempt to retain the MLW tag Team Championship that they won at Cyber Sunday in a tag team turmoil match.
4. The Crusher and Larry Hennig vs King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker. After Baker and Bundy injured Larry Hennig's son Curt Hennig last month on RAW, "the Axe" teams up with avowed Heenan Family enemy The Crusher to avenge the injury of Curt Hennig who still has not returned from his injury.
5. Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez vs Sherri Martel and Cassandra in a triple threat elimination match All 3 women on the AWA brand have a chance to become the new Ladies Champion. Because this is a triple threat elimination match, current Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez must be pinned in either the first or second fall in order to lose her title.
6. Antonino Rocca vs Ray Stevens After Stevens interfered in a match on RAW between fellow Heenan Family member Bockwinkel and Rocca and caused Rocca to lose this match that would have given Rocca a future title shot if he had won, Rocca challenged Stevens to a one on one match at New Years Revolution
7. Koko B. Ware vs Missing Link in a ladder match with Frankie in a cage being the prize above the ring. Last week on RAW, Ware was attacked from behind by the Missing Link who then tried to eat Frankie. But Frankie was captured in a cage by Abdullah Farouk who was making his debut in Major League Wrestling and introduced himself as the manager for the Missing Link. Farouk said he is determined to show he can make an impact by arranging for the Missing Link to have a PPV match at New Years Revolution against Koko B. Ware with Frankie in a cage being the prize hanging above the ring. Will Frankie fly or fry at New Years Revolution?
8. Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke vs Gorgeous George and the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell) in a 6 man tag team elimination match. This match got set up as a result of what happened on the first edition of RAW following Survivor Series as all of the AWA tag teams were involved in an elimination match with the winner getting a title shot at MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons. After Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke were eliminated, it was down to former MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. But, instead of leaving the ringside area, Yukon Eric grabbed the Heart Thrashers' manager Cassandra and kissed her- including even putting his tongue in her mouth. Distracted by what Yukon Eric was doing to their manager, the Heart Thrashers then lost the match to the Iron sheik and Volkoff which cost them a chance to regain their former MLW Tag Team Championship from the Vachons. The Heart Thrashers are now seeking revenge in an elimination match that has since expanded to also include Duggan and George.
9. Hot Seat: MLW Chairman announces the location of Wrestlemania. Sammartino promises to reveal the location of Wrestlemania the biggest card in Major League Wrestling's history and which will celebrate the one-year anniversary of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
(note: I was hoping to play and post this out today but I am obviously behind. Hopefully I can play and post this PPV sometime during the week).

It is now time for the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) to present New Years Revolution!
New Years Revolution was preceded by a 30 minute segment of Major League Wrestling: Fight Night which recapped all of the story lines leading up to tonight's matches and 1 dark match
Dark Match: Killer Bees defeated Playboy Buddy Rose and Red Bastien when B. Brain Blair pinned Bastien following a BEE STING.
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA New Year's Revolution Sunday January 7, 2006 Coliseo de Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico (First Fourth of the show)
The music for the Heart Thrashers begins playing as the first match is immediately set to begin.
Match #1: Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke vs Gorgeous George and the Heart Thrashers (Buff Bagwell and Brutus Beefcake, managed by Cassandra) in an elimination match.
Before the match begins, the announcers mention that former MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers are looking to get revenge against Yukon Eric tonight after Yukon Eric recently caused them to lose a #1 contenders match by grabbing and kissing their manager Cassandra which distracted them and caused them to lose to the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff.
Cousin Luke started the match for his team but was unable to get in a single move of offense as the Heart Thrashers displayed good tag team tactics with a series of quick tags to keep Cousin Luke on the defensive and by working together as they twice gave Cousin Luke a double bodyslam. Cousin Luke was unable to get on the offensive or make a defensive tag and eventually tapped out to George's SPINNING TOE HOLD to get eliminated.
Yukon Eric then entered the match and unloaded an impressive series of offense against the Heart Thrashers. The Heart Thrashers were able to regain control and looked determined to eliminate their enemy Yukon Eric for forcing himself on Cassandra and costing them a chance to regain their MLW Tag Team Championship. Yukon Eric barely escaped elimination via a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER from Bagwell when Duggan just managed to make the pin save. Duggan was finally able to tag in and unleashed an offensive assault which included an impressive Tough Guy Clothesline which was so strong that it not only knocked Beefcake down to the mat but also carried Duggan all the way forward to the ropes where in the same move he also clotheslined George and Bagwell who fell off the apron and landed on Cassandra. Duggan then immediately gave Beefcake an Old Glory kneedrop for the pinfall to eliminate Beefcake as the Puerto Rican crowd rose to their feet to cheer and chant "Na-Na-Nahh-Na, Na-Na-Nahh-Na, Hey, Hey, Hey...Goodbye!" to taunt Beefcake for getting eliminated.
Bagwell then attacked Yukon Eric who was looking the other way and waving good bye to Beefcake. This next series of the match turned out to be great as both sides had to survive several pin/submission attempts as the action quickly shifted back and forth. But the next elimination came when Cassandra distracted Yukon Eric (who has a crush on her) by physically flaunting herself at him which allowed George to place Yukon Eric in his SPINNING TOE HOLD and force him to tap out and get eliminated. After the bell rang, Bagwell came over to attack Yukon Eric some more before the referee was able to get him back to his corner so the match could resume.
The match was now down to Duggan vs George and Bagwell. Although the crowd loudly gave Duggan shouts of encouragement, the one on two disadvantage proved too much for Duggan to overcome and he was soon pinned by Bagwell via a double arm DDT.
Winners: Gorgeous George and the Heart Thrashers. Survivors: Gorgeous George and Buff Bagwell.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons (managed by "Wild" Red Berry) vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (managed by Nikita Breznikov) in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the MLW Tag Team Championship.
Before the match began, Breznikov whispered something to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta who then said to the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen, Nikita Breznikov invites everyone here in Puerto Rico, who he describes as second-class US citizens, to stand up and respect the greatness of the Soviet flag as Nikolai Volkoff sings the Soviet national anthem." The Puerto Rican crowd responded by loudly booing and throwing trash at Breznikov, the Iron Sheik, and Volkoff. But as Volkoff started to sing the national anthem, the crowd suddenly erupted in roars of approval as Mad Dog Vachon interrupted Volkoff's singing by giving him a forearm pummel to start the match.
First Fall: Although the Vachons surprised the Iron Sheik and Volkoff by how they started the match, the action shifted back and forth. Later during this fall, the Iron Sheik almost made Butcher Vachon submit to a Boston Crab but Butcher managed to tag in Mad Dog who came in and unleashed an impressive series of offense against the Iron Sheik that ended by pinning the Iron Sheik via his PILEDRIVER to win the first fall. Vachons are up 1-0.
Second Fall: The Iron Sheik and Volkoff were unable to accomplish much of anything in this fall which quickly ended when Mad Dog Vachon this time pinned Volkoff but once again vis his PILEDRIVER. Vachons win 2-0.
Winners: Vachons. Vachons retain the MLW tag Team Championship.
Advertisement for Royal Rumble: An advertisement is shown about another upcoming PPV called the Royal Rumble which says the main event of this PPV will involve 30 wrestlers (15 from the AWA brand and 15 from the NWA brand) who will randomly enter the match at two minute intervals. The advertisement says that the wrestlers will be eliminated by being thrown over the top rope and that the winner of the Royal Rumble will receive a main event title match at Wrestlemania!
Backstage: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons run into former MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers. Beefcake and Bagwell remind the Vachons that they (Vachons) never defeated them to take the MLW Tag Team Championship which they (Heart Thrashers) only lost because they (Heart Thrashers) had to enter the tag team turmoil match early at Cyber Sunday. The Heart Thrashers then tell the Vachons that after their (Heart Thrashers) victory over Duggan, Yukon Eric , and Cousin Luke early tonight that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has granted them a title shot against the Vachons in a best 2 out of 3 falls match at the Royal Rumble!
Match #3: Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez vs Sherri Martel vs Cassandra in a triple threat elimination match for the Ladies Championship.
This match started off in a 3 way brawl that ended when Cassandra got knocked into one of the corner ring posts. As Cassandra recovered, she strategically decided to stay out of the action and watch as Martinez and Martel traded offense against each other. Also, since this was an elimination triple threat match, Casandra made no effort to make a pin save as both Martinez and Martel made pin attempts against each other. Martel finally managed to pin Martinez via a TOP ROPE SPLASH which guaranteed that there would be a new Ladies Champion tonight. Cassandra then attacked Martel and it seemed like Cassandra's decision to sit out the match as Martel put away Martinez was a good decision beacuse she had a tired Martel in trouble. But Martel was finally able to mount a come back and pin Cassandra via a TOP ROPE SPLASH to become the new Ladies Champion.
Winner: Sherri Martel. Martel is the new Ladies Champion.
End of First Fourth of New Years Revolution. Second Fourth will be posted next and will include: Antonino Rocca vs Ray Stevens, The Crusher and Larry Hennig vs King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker as The Crusher and The Axe seek revenge for the injury inflicted upon Curt Hennig, and MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino on the Hot Seat where he will reveal the location of Wrestlemana!
