BOBO BRAZIL (low) beat JIM JAMISON (low-m) with the Coco Butt finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner)
LWF WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Champions DAVID, KERRY & KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) beat DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) & “DIRTY” D*ICK MURDOCH (low-b) when Kevin beat Murdoch with the Iron Claw to retain the belts (Referee: Dave Hebner)
Before the next match, LWF World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz and Bob Backlund came out onto the stage and prepared to take the Harvard Step Test. The stipulation is that it would last for one hour, unless one man or the other could not continue. After the platforms were examined and found to be identical, the test commenced. An on-screen clock kept time for TV viewers. During commercial breaks between matches, with ABC-TV’s okay, a small picture inset showed Backlund and Thesz continuing the Step Test.
“The AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat The MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) with the Flying Knee Drop (Referee: James Beard)
LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Champion SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) with the Island Driver to retain the belt (Referee: Tommy Young)
ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) beat “CHIEF” WAHOO McDANIEL (low-b) with the Mexican Stretch II (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
By this time, Backlund and Thesz had been doing the Harvard Step Test for 55 minutes. Both men were slower but still stepping. Solie commented that there was a disturbance backstage and said a camera was there to give us a look at what was happening. The camera focused on Bill Watts’ office door, and loud yelling was going on behind it until it opened up … and out stormed former LWF World Heavyweight Champion HARLEY RACE! Ross said he had heard Race had re-signed with the LWF but didn’t know he would be at MSG tonight. Race was heard to yell at Watts, “If you won’t give me a title shot, I’ll just have to get it myself!“ As the camera followed him, Race walked purposefully down the hallway and through the “Gorilla position,” ending up on the stage behind Backlund. Thesz tried to warn Backlund, who didn’t believe him until Race spun him around and head butted him in the face. Race then kneed Backlund in the midsection, dropping him to the floor, and started kicking him in the ribs. Thesz stood for a moment before moving towards Race, who backed off and pointed a finger at the World Champion, who stood over Backlund until referees came out and aided the challenger.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat Champions RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) by disqualification; the Steiners retain the belts (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --Rick Steiner threw Gibson out of the ring. As Woherle was backing Rick away from the ropes, Demolition, along with manager Lou Albano, ran out and attacked Gibson. Morton ran over to help his partner. The Steiners turned Woherle around, and the referee called for the bell. The Steiners left the ring and joined in the battle on the floor. Gibson held Smash for Scott to clothesline him, but Smash ducked, and Scott nailed Gibson. Morton saw that and jumped Steiner. All three teams were fighting each other and yelling threats as officials ran out to break it up.
Highlights will air this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern/9 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN2.

(Match to be aired on Sunday, 8/26/07) BOBO BRAZIL (low) beat The MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) by disqualification when Link hit Brazil over the head with a chair However, it didn’t faze Brazil, and Heenan pulled Link away from the ring (Referee: Tommy Young)
LWF WRESTLING NIGHT IN AMERICA on ESPN Classics (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Mike Tenay, Larry Matysik, “Mean” Gene Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)

“The RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF (low) beat KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) with a Backbreaker (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
WRESTLING NIGHT IN AMERICA MAIN EVENT “The AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat The SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) by countout when Sheik saw a large black man in the front row and, apparently, mistook him for Bobo Brazil, attacking and bloodying him up. Brazil ran out, and Farouk pulled Sheik away as Brazil called for medical help for the man (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie, Jim Ross, Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
TOM JENKINS (ls) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) by disqualification when Harley Race jumped into the ring and attacked Jenkins after the announcers called Jenkins “a leading contender for the World Heavyweight Title.” (Referee: David Manning)
Before the next match, Bill Apter said he had spoken with Bobo Brazil moments ago before Brazil got in a waiting ambulance with the fan Sheik had attacked earlier. In a prerecorded statement, Brazil said, “It’s one thing to do that to me. I can take care of myself. But, to attack an innocent fan, that’s WAY over the line. This Sunday, Bill, I have a match with The Sheik at Summertime Bruise. There are no special stipulations. But, Bill Watts (addressing the LWF General Manager now), all I ask is this. Let this be a fight. Tell the referee for that match, whoever it may be, to just let us go at it. Everybody knows about my history with The Sheik. This Sunday night, I will be out to put an end to that history. Sheik, Farouk, BOTH of you are going down!”
JOHNNY VALENTINE (low) beat KEN RAPER (low-m) with a Backbreaker; after the match, Valentine took the mic and said to Raper, “You don’t get off that easy, son!” Valentine then picked Raper up off the mat and delivered a vicious Atomic Skullcrusher, knocking the defenseless wrestler out as Solie and Ross tried to make sense of this change in attitude in Valentine since he last wrestled in the LWF. (Referee: Nick Patrick)
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH The MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) beat The DUDLEY BOYZ (Bubba, D-Von & “Little” Spike Dudley) (low-c) when Eaton beat Spike with the Rocket Launcher finisher, with assistance from Lane; the Express will now face the Von Erichs for the LWF World Six-Man Tag Team Titles at the Summertime Bruise PPV (Referee: Dave Hebner)
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat LWF World Cruiserweight Champion ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) with two Muscle Buster finishers. (Referee: Mark Curtis) --After the match, Joe called for the microphone. “I have a question for Bill Watts,” Joe said. Why don’t I have a match for Summertime Bruise? (Pause) I’ll tell you why. Ever since I DESTROYED ‘Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers for this belt, I have had not one … NOT ONE … challenger approach me. No one in this company wants this belt badly enough to get it off of me. So, you know what I’ll do? I’m going to sit at home, buy the Pay-Per-View, and watch everyone else in this company beat each other’s brains out while I’m sitting in my recliner, eating popcorn.”
CAPTAINS TRIPLE THREAT MATCH AX of DEMOLITION (low-c) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat RICKY MORTON of the ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (low-b) and LWF Co-World Tag Team Champion SCOTT STEINER of The STEINER BROTHERS (low-c) by disqualification when Rick Steiner charged in (Referee: Earl Hebner)
LWF MAIN EVENT BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with an Underhook Suplex; after the match, Johnny Valentine ran in and attacked Backlund, and Race recovered and joined in a two-on-one attack. Tom Jenkins ran in and helped Backlund fend off Race and Valentine, but Backlund was clearly seriously injured in the attack six days before his scheduled 60-minute Iron Man Match against Lou Thesz for the LWF World Heavyweight Title (Referee: James Beard)
Highlights will air this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern/9 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN2.

*****RESULTS*****
(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-c=Legends Of Wrestling Creations; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs; ls=Legendary Stars)
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND on ESPN (9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central Saturdays, hosted by Bill Mercer, with commentary by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik and ring announcing by Gary Michael Cappetta)
(Match to be aired on Sunday, 9/2/07) “LITTLE” SPIKE DUDLEY (low-c) beat MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) with the Acid Drop finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
Solie, Ross, Tenay & Matysik all welcomed fans to the “all-new” World Class Championship Wrestling, with the new three-hour network format and rotating commentary teams. LWF General Manager Bill Watts came to the ring, microphone in hand. He said, “First of all, I want to congratulate our new World Heavyweight Champion, Bob Backlund. I also want to congratulate the former champion, Lou Thesz. Both men did this business proud last night in what had to be the most exciting hour of wrestling I’d ever seen. Both men are extremely talented, and they deserve your applause.” Fans applauded the two warriors. “The second thing I want to say is, enough is enough, and for The Sheik and Abdullah Farouk, last night, they stepped over the line. What they did to Bobo Brazil can NOT be tolerated by anyone in the LWF. Therefore, after a conference call late last night with the LWF Board Of Directors, I have decided to suspend The Sheik for 60 days.” Fans cheered this news. “I’m willing to give the man a chance when the 60 days are up, but, if he does this again, or commits any equally heinous act, he’s gone for good from the LWF!” Harley Race and Johnny Valentine came to the ring, and Race spoke. “Bill Watts, what about what happened to me last night? I was obviously the victim of some foul play by that Tom Jenkins. There is no way that a no-talent like him can beat me cleanly for a shot at the World Title.” Valentine added his two cents. “And, Bill Watts, I don’t see how you could condone what that Dick Murdoch did to me last night. I think …” Watts stopped Valentine before he could utter another word. “Now just hold on. You two are obviously thinking of different matches than the ones that millions of people saw last night. And, quite frankly, I’m surprised that you two are complaining so much. You’re two of the toughest guys I know. Well, tonight, gentlemen, you’re going to prove to me how tough you really are. Valentine, you’ve got a match tonight against the man who single-handedly beat the Russians last night, ‘The American Dream,’ Dusty Rhodes!” Fans cheered. “And you, Harley Race, will get to show me exactly how tough you really are, because you’re going to face the former LWF World Heavyweight Champion … Lou Thesz! Gentlemen, get ready to HOOK ‘EM UP!”
“DIRTY” D*ICK MURDOCH (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with the Brainbuster finisher (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Brazil’s face was heavily bandaged after being burned last night by The Sheik. In a pre-taped insert shown in a corner of the screen after the match started, Brazil said he wished Watts hadn’t suspended Sheik because “I want to take care of business my way. But, I’ll go along with the Board Of Directors’ decision. But, Sheik, Farouk, hear this. When you come back in 60 days … I’ll be waiting.” Murdoch went after the fresh wounds, ripping at Brazil’s face and causing searing pain before giving him the Brainbuster and hooking both legs for the pin.
DAVID & KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) beat The MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) when David beat Eaton with the Spinning Toe Hold (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --As the Von Erichs celebrated, Lane attacked them from behind, quickly joined by Dennis Condrey and, after a few moments, a limping Eaton. Kerry Von Erich came out, but he was met from behind by Cornette’s tennis racket. Cornette hit all three Von Erichs as his men held them for him. The Express then stood triumphantly over the fallen brothers and held their World Six-Man Tag Team Title belts high overhead.
LWF National Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe came out and reiterated what he said last week about having no competition. “Just like I told you I would, I sat at home last night, propped my feet up, microwaved some Redenbacher, and watched the Summertime Bruise Pay-Per-View … and just laughed at everyone I saw. You see, I said it last week, and I’ll say it again. There is NO ONE in this organization willing to step in the ring with me. Not the so-called World Champion, nobody. No one…” In just moments, Joe found himself nose-to-nose with … Stan Hansen! The big Texas drawled, “Now look here, you dadgum Samoan Gumball Machine or whatever it is they call you, my name is Stan Hansen, and they call me ‘The Man.’ If you want competition, all you gotta do is say, ‘I wanna fight,’ and you got a fight!” Joe was silent for a few moments before saying, “Okay, cowboy. I’ll play along. I wanna fight! But, on one condition … let’s make it a non-title match. But, before you get that red neck of yours ‘all farred up,’ as you say down in Texas, all you gotta do to get a title shot … is beat me!”
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat “The RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF (low) with Dropkicks (Referee: James Beard) --As the match started, Koloff said, in a pre-taped insert in a corner of the screen, said that, after last night’s Elimination Tag Team Match with Dusty Rhodes and Barry Windham, Nikita Koloff was sent back to “Mother Russia” in disgrace, saying his muscular nephew couldn’t get the job done. As it turned out, neither could Ivan in this match with the “Nature Boy,” who kept Koloff off balance and off his game before finishing him off with dropkicks.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
JOHNNY VALENTINE (low) beat “The AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) by disqualification when Rhodes grabbed a steel chair away from Valentine and hit him with it (Referee: David Manning)
HARLEY RACE (low) beat LOU THESZ (low-b) with the Piledriver finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Tenzy and Matysik speculated that Thesz might not have the stamina he usually does, since he went a full, action-packed hour with Bob Backlund last night. Race took advantage of that and piledrove the former World Champion for the victory.
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Champions “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) beat The ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) when Scott beat Gibson with the Steiner DDT finisher to retain the belts (Referee: Mark Curtis) --In a pre-taped insert, Scott Steiner, speaking for his brother, who barked in the background, said, “Even though we wrestled the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express in that Triple Threat Match last night, and we won the match, we didn’t really beat THEM. So, my brother Rick and I offered Ricky & Robert a shot at our belts, just the two of us teams, and we’ll find out, once and for all, who’s the real World Champions.” This was followed by an insert with the Rock ‘N’ Rolls, with Morton saying, “The fact that this match is happening shows you what kind of guys the Steiners are. They’re two guys we can trust and respect. But Rick, Scott, you make one wrong move, and those World Tag Team belts are OURS!” The Steiners overpowered the reigning National Tag Team Champions on their way to another successful World Title defense.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) when Terry beat Ax with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher (Referee: Tommy Young) --After the match, Terry took the mic. “And, now, we have some unfinished business with a couple of boys from Michigan. Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, me and Junior (Dory) never got our rematch for those World Tag Team Titles. If you’re the kind of men the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express say you are, you’ll give us that rematch we deserve. But, if you’re not, you’re a couple of (slower) yellow … nasty … no-good … good-for-nothing’ … egg-sucking dawgs! And … that goes for your mother, too!” The Steiners ran out and started to brawl with the Funks, and security ran out to separate the two teams. Scott Steiner accepted the challenge on behalf of his brother.
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Champion “The SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat STAN “The MAN” HANSEN (low-b) with the Musclebuster finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --It was an effort for Joe to get Hansen up for his signature move, but he did it, sending Hansen crashing to the mat and unable to even try to kick out of the cover.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH TOM JENKINS (ls) beat Champion BOB BACKLUND (low-b) with the Full Nelson Cradle finisher to win the belt (Referee: Earl Hebner) --Solie and Ross pointed out that Bill Watts had ordered Harley Race and Johnny Valentine out of the building prior to this match. Backlund showed little sign of fatigue at the beginning of the match, but he seemed to run out of gas quickly. Jenkins, to the surprise of many observers, outwrestled Backlund, caught him in his patented Cradle and cinched it in tightly enough to keep Backlund from kicking out. Three seconds later, a new champion was crowned, and Backlund now has the dubious distinction of being a one-day champion. Backlund went to shake Jenkins’ hand, but the new champ seemed to ignore Backlund as he left the ring, holding the belt high.
Highlights will air this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DUDLEY BOYZ (Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley) (low-c) beat DAVID & KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) when D-Von beat David with the Neckbreaker Off the Turnbuckle (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Jim Cornette and all three members of the Midnight Express watched the match from the aisle, having had confrontations with both teams in the past, the Von Erichs more recently. David saw them, and that distracted him enough for D-Von to successfully execute his move while Bubba kept Kevin away.
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with the Tope Suicida (Referee: David Manning) --Joe won the hard-fought match, but, afterwards, he was attacked by Johnny Valentine. Both Race and Valentine pounded Joe, who had no help until referees ran out to break it up.
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat STAN “The MAN” HANSEN (low-b) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --After the match, Backlund called out the new World Heavyweight Champion, Tom Jenkins. LWF GM Bill Watts came out and told Backlund that Jenkins was not present because he was fulfilling championship obligations in South America. Backlund said, “Then, Mr. Watts, I’d like you to arrange for Mr. Jenkins to come to World Class Wrestling next week. All I want to do is ask him why he snubbed me last week after he beat me for the title. No handshake, no acknowledgement, nothing. At least Lou Thesz was a gracious winner.”
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH “LITTLE” SPIKE DUDLEY (low-c) beat Champion ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) with Stomps in the Corner to win the belt (Referee: James Beard) --Dudley held the belt high overhead as he celebrated his victory, but, as he celebrated, Mr. Gannosuke walked to the ring, sarcastically clapping his hands, bowing to Dudley and grinning.
LWF NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) by countout (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --As Gibson & Morton were conferring outside the ring, they were attacked from behind by two men Tenay identified as … Chris Candido & Justin Credible! The Rock ‘N’ Rolls and Candido & Credible fought all the way to the back as Albano and his men gleefully accepted the victory.
After the commercial break, cameras in the back showed the two teams still fighting and making their way into the parking lot. Candido and Credible jumped into a waiting car, ushered through the open rear door by a woman Matysik identified as Tammy Sytch, and they made their getaway. After chasing for a short distance on foot, Morton yelled for Bill Watts as he and his partner made their way back into the arena.
LOU THESZ (low-b) beat “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) with the Thesz Press finisher (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
“DIRTY” D*ICK MURDOCH (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) with the Brainbuster finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
Solie announced that the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express demanded a match with Candido & Credible next week, and Watts granted it to them. Ross added that the Express voluntarily put their belts on the line in the match.
JOHNNY VALENTINE (low) beat “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) by disqualification (Referee: Earl Hebner) --Valentine was attacked by Samoa Joe just as Valentine was in position to defeat Rogers. Valentine bailed out of the ring and was joined by Harley Race, and the two stood side-by-side as Joe and Rogers, longtime rivals, suddenly realized that they were in the ring together. The two watched each other while also keeping an eye on Race and Valentine.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Champions “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) and DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) went to a double-disqualification (Referee: Tommy Young) --Wrestling gave way to brawling as the champions and the former champions let their tempers get the best of them, causing both teams to toss Young to the mat and giving the referee no choice but to call for the bell. The two teams continued battling as the ring filled with referees, security and wrestlers trying to separate the four.
Highlights will air this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND on ESPN (9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central Saturdays, hosted by Bill Mercer, with commentary by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik and ring announcing by Gary Michael Cappetta)
(Match to be aired on Sunday, 9/16/07) NON-TITLE MATCH MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) beat LWF World Cruiserweight Champion “LITTLE” SPIKE DUDLEY (low-c) with the Sitout Scoop Piledriver finisher (Referee: Tommy Young) --After the match, Gannosuke saw Ultimo Guerrero in the aisle, and the two had a staredown. Later in the program, LWF GM Bill Watts announced that, because Gannosuke has beaten Dudley and Guerrero is the former champion, the two men will meet next week on World Class Championship Wrestling in a Number One Contender’s Match.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DUDLEY BOYZ (Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley) (low-c) beat DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) by disqualification when Albano interfered (Referee: James Beard)
HARLEY RACE (low) beat “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) with the Piledriver finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --After the match, Race and Johnny Valentine began putting the boots to Rogers. Suddenly, National Champion Samoa Joe charged out and ran Race and Valentine out of the ring as Solie & Ross reminded viewers that Joe and Valentine already had a match scheduled for later in the night. Once again, longtime rivals Joe and Rogers looked at each other uneasily.
BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with the Sweetwater Superplex finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Brazil’s face was still bandaged as a result of the fireball attack by The Sheik weeks ago. After the match, Windham started digging into Brazil’s burn wounds. This brought out Windham’s partner, Dusty Rhodes, who shoved Windham and yelled, “WHAT ARE YOU DOIN’?” Rhodes lectured Windham until Windham wheeled around and slugged Rhodes and then stomped him until Brazil regained his feet, and Windham bailed out of the ring as Brazil tended to Rhodes.

“DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK STEINER (w/ Scott Steiner) (low-c) beat TERRY FUNK (w/ Dory Funk Jr.) (low-b) by disqualification when Dory interfered (Referee: Earl Hebner) --As Rick was about to pin Terry, Dory jumped in and started beating on him. This quickly brought Scott into the ring, and the two brother teams had another out-of-control brawl that required several uniformed security guards and officials to break it up.
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Tag Team Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette & “Sweet“ Stan Lane) (low) when Gibson beat Eaton with a Sunset Flip (Referee: Nick Patrick) --During the match, Lane tried to interfere, but Referee Patrick caught him and ejected him from ringside. After the Rock ‘N’ Rolls won, though, Lane returned and joined in a four-on-two beatdown on the National Champions, ending up with the three members of the Midnights holding Morton and Cornette beating him repeatedly with his tennis racket.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
BOBO BRAZIL (low) beat “DIRTY” D*ICK MURDOCH (low-b) by disqualification (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --Murdoch brought a chair into the ring and hit Brazil over the head, resulting in the DQ. But, of course, the chair didn’t hurt Brazil, who grabbed the chair away and blasted Murdoch with it. “Dirty D*ick” rolled out of the ring and staggered up the aisle to the dressing room while Brazil challenged him to get back in the ring.
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF (low) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis) --After the match, LWF World Heavyweight Champion Tom Jenkins appeared on the LegendsVision screen. He applauded Backlund for his victory and said, “Bob, congratulations. You are one step closer to getting a rematch with me for my World Heavyweight Title. If you want to prove yourself worthy of a rematch, though, you must win next week … against a wrestler of my choosing. Beat him, and you get the title shot.”
LWF MAIN EVENT “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) & LWF National Heavyweight Champion SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat HARLEY RACE (low) & JOHNNY VALENTINE (low) when Rogers beat Valentine with the Figure Four Grapevine finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Although Rogers and Joe were rivals, they worked well together as a team. Strangely, whenever Valentine wanted to tag out, Race was conveniently out of his reach. Joe bloodied Valentine and tossed him towards his own corner, and Race simply jumped down to the floor and walked away. Rogers wrapped Valentine’s legs up in the Grapevine, and, after an agonizing minute of pain, Valentine had no choice but to tap out. When Rogers and Joe left, Race returned to the ring and took the ring mic as he stood over a bloody and hurting Valentine. “Valentine, you need to know one thing. In this business, it’s every man for himself. I am my own man, and I don’t need anyone riding on my coattails on my way to the World Championship. You can lie here and bleed for all I care!” With that, Race started stomping Valentine and only let up when Referee Hebner and other officials ran out to get between the now ex-partners.

After the commercial break, Bubba Ray Dudley, while tending to partner D-Von, told interviewer “Mean Gene” Okerlund that he and D-Von are challenging Demolition to a Tables Elimination Match “this Monday night” on World Class Championship Wrestling. Bubba said, “Albano, get your boys ready because Brother D-Von and I are gonna … GET … THE … TABLES!”

LUMBERJACK MATCH BOBBY “The BRAIN” HEENAN (low) beat ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) with a Sunset Flip (Referee: James Beard) --Heenan’s protégé, Missing Link, was barred from ringside, with a half dozen uniformed bobbies with batons surrounding his dressing room door. Both men experienced problems outside the ring, especially when one of the lumberjacks, LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Mr. Gannosuke, brained Guerrero with a chair as Heenan had Beard distracted before tossing the Mexican star back into the ring, where he staggered up to a leaning position, enabling Heenan to hit the Flip on him. Heenan held onto Guerrero’s tights to keep him down for the 1-2-3. After the pin, though, as the lumberjacks left the ring, an angry Guerrero regained his senses and took off after Gannosuke and tossed him into the ring, and the two had to be separated by the other wrestlers.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
LWF General Manager “Cowboy” Bill Watts told interviewer Bill Apter that the next LWF Pay-Per-View event will be Legends Of The Fall: Survival on Sunday, November 18 in Miami, Florida. The focus of the card will be a 16-man single-elimination tournament, with the winner getting a shot at the LWF World Heavyweight Title the same night. Watts added that the eight first-round matches will take place over the next four weeks on World Class Championship Wrestling, with the first two matches taking place next week: Bobo Brazil vs. Kerry Von Erich, and Harley Race vs. Barry Windham. Watts also said that The Sheik is due to return from his 60-day suspension in two weeks. “I’m not looking forward to it, and I don’t think anyone else is, either. But, he and Abdullah Farouk both know the score. One more incident like the fireball that got him suspended in the first place, and his butt is gone for a YEAR!”
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “IMPACT PLAYER” CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ Tammy “Sunny” Sytch) (low) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis)
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH LWF National and Co-World Six-Man Tag Team Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat LWF World Tag Team Champions “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) when Gibson beat Scott with the Double Dropkick finisher to win the belts (Referee: David Manning) --Ricky ’N’ Robert continued their domination of the LWF Tag Team Division (their World Six-Man Tag Title partner being LWF newcomer Christopher Daniels) with the win over the Steiners, only to see the Midnight Express charge in and attack both teams, with Jim Cornette demanding a shot at any of the titles for his team.
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) with a Piledriver (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
After the commercial break, LWF General Manager “Cowboy” Bill Watts told interviewer Bill Apter that he’s going to grant Cornette’s request for a title match … but only if his men can beat the Steiners in a Number One Contender’s Match. “Then,” Watts said, “Cornette can choose which of the tag team titles he wants to challenge for … although I have a pretty good idea which one they want.”
CHAIRLY LEGAL MATCH “RATED ‘R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with the Spear finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --This was essentially hardcore rules, with chairs legal. Edge appeared to be more adept at using a chair, battering Brazil often with the steel and keeping away from the front of his head, finally softening him up for the Spear, putting the Legend from Benton Harbor on his back for the 1-2-3.
NON-TITLE MATCH MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) beat LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) with the Back Flying Head Butt finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
Before the Main Event, Solie and Ross announced that, next week, Dusty Rhodes will defend the National Title against the Missing Link on World Class Championship Wrestling. Also, Bobo Brazil faces Kerry Von Erich and Harley Race meets Barry Windham in first-round tournament matches. The Steiner Brothers and the Midnight Express will wrestle in a Number One Contender’s Match.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat LWF World Heavyweight Champion TOM JENKINS (ls) by disqualification; Jenkins retains the belt (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --A frustrated and desperate Jenkins was on the verge of losing when he brought a chair into the ring and smashed Joe over the head with it. Dugan called for the bell to end the match, but Joe only went down to one knee. Jenkins watched in amazement before hitting Joe with the chair again, this time putting him on his back … but only for a moment, because Joe slowly got back to his feet and told Jenkins to “bring it on.” Jenkins got scared, grabbed his belt and left as Joe, staggering and with blood trickling down his nose, refused the referee’s raising of his hand and dared Jenkins to get back in the ring as TV time expired.
Highlights will air this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

Tonight’s matches are Bobo Brazil vs. Kerry Von Erich and Harley Race vs. Barry Windham. Watts also said that, after what happened in last week’s Main Event, the LWF has made Samoa Joe an offer. He said Joe was a savage who didn’t deserve another title shot, and he was incensed that Watts was forcing him into a rematch, especially one with the No Disqualification stipulation. Jenkins said, “That’s alright, though, When it comes right down to it, there can be no question which of us is the superior (slowly for emphasis) WRES-TL-ER!” After Joe won the match, he came down to the commentary table and had a staredown with Jenkins, and officials swarmed out to keep the two men apart.
OBVIOUS NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World Cruiserweight Champion MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) beat “RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF (low) with the Sitout Scoop Piledriver finisher (Referee: Dick Woherle) --After Gannosuke pulled off the victory over the larger Koloff and was celebrating in the ring, former Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Guerrero ran in and attacked Gannosuke, getting him in the Guerrero Special before officials came out and pried Gannosuke away from Guerrero.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with a Running Dropkick; Von Erich advances in the tournament (Referee: Dave Hebner) --As the match began, Edge, in a pre-recorded video insert, told Kerry Von Erich that, if Kerry beats Brazil tonight, “I expect you to thank me,” in reference to the recent violent series of matches between Edge and Brazil. Von Erich got the win, and he and a dejected-looking Brazil shook hands.
In the back, Bill Apter interviewed Jim Cornette, surrounded by his Midnight Express. Cornette said that, “win, lose or draw tonight, and we WILL win, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express has something they took from us. The World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. I admit, they pulled a fast one on us when they brought in somebody totally new, someone so totally off the radar we couldn’t possibly have scouted him, this ’Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels. But, this time, we know the score. We want a shot at those Six-Man belts. And, after tonight, when we beat those illiterate Steiner Brothers and get a shot at the World Tag Team Titles, we expect to have TWO shots at gold belts, and ‘Loverboy’ Dennis, ‘Beautiful’ Bobby and the ‘Gangster Of Love’ will take advantage of every … and I mean EVERY … opportunity.”
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat BOB BACKLUND (low-b) with the Figure Four Grapevine (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
DOUBLE ELIMINATION TABLES MATCH DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat DUDLEY BOYZ (Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley) (low-c), two tables to none (Referee: Nick Patrick) --The object of this match is to put both members of the opposing team through tables. The Dudleys’ challenge for this match aired Saturday morning on LWF World Class Weekend, but it was Demolition who controlled the match. First, Ax & Smash teamed up to put a bloody Bubba Ray through a table in a modified version of the Demolition Decapitation. D-Von fought valiantly, getting busted open himself while opening up Smash, but, in the end, the remaining Dudley was no match for the double-teaming of Albano’s men, who reduced a second table to splinters with D-Von’s body. Ax held Smash up while they and Albano gloated over D-Von and the table rubble as Bubba Ray tried in vain to regain his feet at ringside.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH HARLEY RACE (low) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low) by disqualification when Windham took the referee out with a Flying Lariat; Race advances in the tournament (Referee: James Beard)
Solie announced that both Dudleys had been taken away in an ambulance to a nearby medical facility.
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) beat MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) when Rick beat Condrey with the Steiner Bulldog finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner) --During the match, Stan Lane tried to interfere, but the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express ran out and stopped him. With the sides even in the ring, the former champion Steiners earned a rematch against Ricky & Robert.
Solie & Ross announced that, next week, Tom Jenkins defends the LWF World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe in a No DQ Match, Mr. Gannosuke defends the World Cruiserweight belt against Ultimo Guerrero, the first round of the tournament continues with Buddy Rogers vs. Edge and Missing Link vs. David Von Erich, and The Sheik makes his return from his 60-day suspension.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) by disqualification when Link hit Rhodes with a wild chair shot; Rhodes retained the belt (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)

LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND on ESPN (9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central Saturdays, hosted by Bill Mercer, with commentary by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik and ring announcing by Gary Michael Cappetta)
(Matches to be aired on Saturday, 11/3/07)
MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (Arn & Ole Anderson) (low-b) beat ROUGH & READY (w/ Boss Winters) (low-m) when Ole beat Ready with the Standing Arm Bar finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --The Andersons made their return to the LWF, making quick work of Winters’ thus-far unsuccessful duo and tossing Winters from the ring after the match for good measure.
CHRIS HERO (low-c) beat “BEAUTIFUL” BOBBY EATON (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) by disqualification when Hero went to the top rope and was attacked by Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane (Referee: Tommy Young) --Hero, making his LWF debut, apparently was not taken seriously by Cornette & company, but Hero’s moves in the ring brought the Midnight Express back down to earth. Eaton was down when Hero went for a flying maneuver, and that’s when Eaton’s partners attacked. As the Express ganged up on Hero, Christopher Daniels, who holds the World Six-Man Tag Titles with World and National Tag Team Champions the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, ran out to help but was overwhelmed by the numbers until Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton ran out, and it was only then that Cornette called the dogs off.
After the commercial break, Gene Okerlund was backstage with Daniels, Hero, Gibson and Morton. Daniels thanked the Rock ‘N’ Rolls for their help, “but I think Chris and I can handle things. You saw what Cornette and his men did to my friend Chris Hero. Next week, Cornette, Chris and I want the Midnight Express in a tag match. And, we only want TWO of them. Pick two, and tell the other one to stay the hell away from the ring!”
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND MAIN EVENT “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat LOU THESZ (low-b) with the Discus Punch finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Von Erich, already in the quarterfinals of the World Heavyweight Title Number One Contender’s tournament, was expected to have more trouble with Thesz then he actually did, overpowering the former World Champion and hitting his patented spinning punch out of nowhere. Thesz was left rubbing his jaw and Von Erich returned to the dressing room.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
FIRST ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat “RATED ’R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-c) by disqualification when Edge brought a chari into the ring, shoved the referee aside, and hit the One-Man Con-Chair-To on Rogers; Rogers advances in the tournament (Referee: James Beard) --Beard called for medical attention for Rogers as Edge left the ring following his assault on the “Nature Boy.” Edge took the mic and said, “All you so-called Legends, take note of what you just saw me do. I destroyed Bobo Brazil, and I just destroyed another one of your Legends. Who’s the next one to feel the steel?”
Bill Apter interviewed Samoa Joe, the challenger later in the night for Tom Jenkins’ LWF World Heavyweight Title. Joe told Apter, “I heard what Tom Jenkins said about me last week. He called me a ‘savage’ who didn’t deserve a title rematch. Tom Jenkins, you’ve got me all wrong. I happen to be a well-educated, disciplined athlete. I am also someone you don’t want to make mad. I know tonight’s match is No Disqualification. I know you’re expecting me to behave like a jungle animal tonight. Well, Tom, you are in for a surprise. You won’t even know you’re in a No DQ match … until the very end of your title reign!”
After the commercial break, Solie said one of the cameramen backstage was working on his camera when he happened to catch a scene in a hallway. The scene, shown via videotape, was that of Jim Cornette peeling bills off a roll of cash and handing them to Abdullah Farouk, manager of the returning Sheik. The two men shook hands before Farouk saw the camera and started cursing at the cameraman before the screen went blank.
“FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) beat The SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) with the Best Moonsault Ever finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --Daniels came to the ring first, and then Farouk came out by himself and introduced The Sheik. The arena lights went out, and a ball of fire rose up from the blackness. When the lights came back on, The Sheik was in the ring. Sheik was returning after a 60-day suspension imposed by the LWF after a fireball incident. Sheik was his usual vicious self, jabbing repeatedly at Daniels with a pencil and opening him up. Ross speculated that Cornette must have been paying off Farouk to have Sheik injure Daniels and make it easier for the Midnight Express to reclaim the World Six-Man Tag Team Titles from Daniels and the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express. Daniels, though, fought back through the blood and, with Sheik down, started to go for the ropes. Farouk climbed onto the ring apron, but Daniels kicked him off. Daniels then hit the B.M.E. and pinned Sheik, 1-2-3. As Daniels left the ring in celebration, an irate Farouk screamed at Lubich about a fast count as Sheik appeared to be going for a fireball. Farouk saw it and, knowing Sheik would be suspended again, perhaps permanently, if he threw fire again, stopped him and dragged him from the ring.
BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) beat KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) with a Missile Dropkick (Referee: Dave Hebner)
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
In an interview shown live on LWF World Class Championship Wrestling but not shown to the live crowd in the arena, Gene Okerlund interviewed Jim Cornette, accompanied by the Midnight Express. Cornette said his challenge to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and Christopher Daniels for the World Six-Man Titles still goes. He said, “I was hoping The Sheik, out of the goodness of his heart, would take Daniels out for us, but, as everyone saw tonight, that didn’t happen. So, we’ll have to do the job ourselves. And, Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, next Monday night, I hope the Steiners beat the tar out of you … but leave you with the belts so we can take those, too!” Okerlund then asked Cornette about the wisdom of having Bobby Eaton wrestle a singles match “this weekend on World Class Weekend” against a newcomer, a youngster by the name of Chris Hero. Cornette stared at “Mean Gene” momentarily before replying, “Why should that worry us? All that’ll do is keep ‘Beautiful Bobby’ mentally and physically sharp before our six-man match for the belts. Don’t make me worry about things I shouldn’t worry about. This interview is over!”
BUFF BAGWELL (low) beat BOB BACKLUND (low-b) by countout (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --Bagwell was returning after a two-year absence, and he made his mark when he hit his Buff Blockbuster off the ring apron on Backlund on the floor, and Bagwell, who felt the effects of his own move, crawled back into the ring before Backlund could beat the 10-count.
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with the Flip, Flop & Fly (Referee: Earl Hebner)
Backstage, Bill Apter interviewed the LWF World Heavyweight Champion, Tom Jenkins. As fans could be heard chanting, “Joe’s gonna kill you,” Jenkins said, “Samoa Joe, you can’t fool me. You talk about being educated and disciplined. But, I’ve wrestled you before, and I know the real you. At any moment, you can snap like a wild animal. Listen to these people. They know you’re an animal! That is why I’m glad our match tonight is No Disqualification. A lion tamer uses a chair to tame a wild beast. I will have access to much more than that to tame you and show you that you don’t belong in the same ring as me, and you CERTAINLY don’t deserve to be the World Heavyweight Champion!”
LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) beat Champion MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) with a Cross-Body Block to win the belt (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Guerrero used his speed and agility to counter Gannosuke and hit the cross body to get the pin and regain the Cruiserweight belt. As Guerrero held the belt high and celebrated, the arena lights went out. Tenay speculated that the Sheik was returning, and the sound of a metal chair hitting a skull could be heard. When the lights came back on, though, Guerrero was flat on his back, the chair set up beside him, and on Guerrero’s other side stood … SABU! Sabu pointed to the ceiling and took off, hitting the Triple Jump Moonsault on Guerrero. At ringside, Gannosuke laughed and pointed. Sabu ran and jumped onto the chair and top rope again … and jumped onto Gannosuke outside the ring! With Gannosuke down, Sabu pulled a table out from under the ring, but Gannosuke was able to scramble to safety. Before Sabu could get the table into the ring, officials ran out and stopped him, and they herded him up the aisle to the back as other officials tended to Guerrero.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat IMPACT PLAYERS (Chris Candido & Justin Credible) (w/ Tammy “Sunny” Sytch) (low) when Dory beat Candido with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
FIRST ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) with the Iron Claw finisher, after whipping Link into Heenan, who had come into the ring; Von Erich advances in the tournament (Referee: Nick Patrick)
Solie and Ross announced that, next week, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express defend the LWF World Tag Team belts against the Steiners, Kerry Von Erich takes on Edge, and, in more first-round tournament action, Bob Backlund meets Ultimo Guerrero, and, in a match just signed, Mr. Gannosuke will face a replacement for the injured Ivan Koloff … Sabu!
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH--NO DISQUALIFICATION “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat Champion TOM JENKINS (ls) with The Choke/Kokina Clutch finisher to win the belt (Referee: David Manning) --True to his word, Joe wrestled Jenkins and matched him hold-for-hold. Jenkins brought a chair into the ring, but Joe kicked it in his face, enabling the challenger to lock in the Clutch and force Jenkins to pass out. Manning checked Jenkins’ arm three times. When it dropped the third time, the bell rang, and Joe, who rarely cracked a smile, grinned broadly as he was presented the belt. Fans cheered as Joe held the belt aloft and stood over Jenkins’ limp body.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

LWF NATIONAL TAG TAM TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“The Enforcer” Arn & “The Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) beat DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain“ Lou Albano) (low) when Arn beat Smash with a Knee Drop; the Andersons get a shot at the Rock ’N’ Roll Express’ National Tag Team Titles at the Legends Of The Fall: Survival PPV on November 18. Rogers and Von Erich acknowledged each other before Rogers left Von Erich alone to take in the cheers of the fans.

Mr. Gannosuke came out and got Guerrero’s attention, and Manning turned to try to get Gannosuke away from the ring. Meanwhile, Sabu came out with a chair in hand and threw it towards Guerrero; however, Guerrero ducked, and the chair hit Backlund instead. Guerrero chased off Sabu, Gannosuke walked away, and Guerrero rolled Backlund up in the Small Package to win and advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) beat “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) & CHRIS HERO (low-c) by disqualification (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --The Express were beating up on Hero, and Cornette was about to wallop him with the tennis racket when Daniels snatched it away, swung and missed at Cornette, and then connected on Eaton and Lane. With the Rock ’N’ Rolls and Daniels down, Cornette told them to “get ready, boys, because, next week, the Midnight Express will take back what’s rightfully ours … the World Six-Man Tag Team Titles!
