AACW Showdown! Legends of Wrestling!
AACW has returned to television after a long hiatus with Showdown, the federation's 2 hour flagship show... the commentating team of Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura welcome fans to the season premiere!
The opening bout was a first round match of the Television Title Tournament between Chris Candido (w/Tammy) against Virgil
Chris Candido and Virgil battle to a double disqualification outside the ring -This was a close match in which both men countered each other's moves...frustrations and tempers flared and the match spilled outside, the referee ws unable to regain control and called for both men to be DQ'd
Following this was a first round match of the United States Title Tournament between Bobo Brazil and Johnny Valentine
Johnny Valentine beat Bobo Brazil with forearm bludgeon to advance -This was a hard hitting smash mouth match...Brazil managed to bust open Valentine the hard way after multiple Coco Butts followed by ramming Valentine headfirst into the ringpost...in the end however Valentine reversed a turnubuckle whip and hit two Atomic Skullcrushers but Brazil would not stay down...finally after a vicious forearm bludgeon Valentine gets the duke
The next match on the card was a first round match for the AACW Tag Team Title Tournament between The Killer Bees against the team of Harley Race and Larry Hennig
Race & Hennig defeated The Killer Bees when Race pinned Jim Brunzell after the Piledriver -The Bees kept Race and Hennig busy at first but soon Race's power would overwhelm Brunzell and one Piledriver later...Race and Hennig look forward to the second round
after the commercial break Diamond Dallas Page was Bill Apter's guest on the Hotseat...Buff Bagwell came out and interrupted...Bagwell complained of biased ratings in PWI and LOW Magazine..Bagwell grabbed Apter and was ready to put him out when DDP nailed Bagwell sending him over the desk... DDP has challenged Bagwell to a match on Monday Mayhem.
The next match was a first round match in the World Heritage Title Tournament between Frank Gotch and George Hackenschmidt
Gotch made Hack submit to the Gotch Toehold to advance -Great match as both men display superior ring skills, Hack came close to victory with his Russian Bear Hug and Gotch managed to survive and turn things around and lock him in the Gotch Toehold for the win
The Main Event of the evening was a first round match in the AACW World Heavyweight Title Tournament between Dan "The Beast" Severn and Ted DiBiase
Ted DiBiase beat Severn via pinfall after two straight Loaded Glove shots - The match got to a quick start when Severn entered the ring threatening ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta, DiBiase stormed the ring and took control immediately, Severn countered a second rope elbow and locked DiBiase into a choke sleeper between locking on the Wakigatame...DiBiase managed to escape after being locked in the hold for awhile...DiBiase put Severn down and locked on the Figure Four Leglock and Severn made it to the ropes...DiBiase quickly went into his tights and loaded the glove...after two shots Severn was pinned and DiBiase would advance much to the pleasure of the AACW fans

AACW Monday Mayhem!!!
Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura welcome fans to the first edition of Monday Mayhem. They announced that the title tournament matches would be continuing on each show until the first PPV card of the year WrestleFest where the tournament final matches would be held.
The opening match was first round match in the Television Title Tournament featuring The Boogie Woogie Man against Cousin Luke
The Boogie Woogie Man beat Cousin Luke via The Sleeper -Luke didnt stand much of a chance as Valiant came into this match with a vengeance and quickly put the Hillbilly to sleep... Valiant will be recieving a bye in the second round due to the double dq on Showdown between Candido and Virgil
The next bout was a first round match in the United States Title Tournament between "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka and Mil Mascaras
Snuka dominated Mascaras and put him away with the Superfly Leap (+5) - Snuka showed a vicious side in this bout, the fans were a bit taken back as Snuka hasnt showed this side in many years, Mascaras was just decimated in this bout
Next up was another first round match in the Tag Team Title Tourny...The Road Warriors taking on The Dream Team
The Road Warriors destroyed The Dream Team in short order and got the win after Hawk pinned Beefcake after the Doomsday Device - The Dream Team looked like third rate jobbers in this bout as Hawk and Animal ripped right through them...Beefcake found himself a victim of two Doomsday Devices.. Valentine tried to save but was leveled by Animal
The following match was a first round match in the World Heritage Title Tourny between Dick Hutton and "The Golden Greek" Jim Londos
Jim Londos gets the submission victory when Hutton submitted to the Boston Crab - WHAT A MATCH! These two tore the house down with a long wrestling clinic, the tide turned often in this match and was close all the way to the end, both men hitting their respective finishers several times...by the end both men were exhausted and Londos managed to lock Hutton in the Boston Crab after the Airplane Spin for the hard fought victory
Chris Candido and Tammy were Bill Apter's guests on The Hotseat...Candido stated he would like a rematch against Virgil to prove that he can beat the lowly former bodyguard...He also stated that the winner of the TV Title better be prepared for the Blonde Bomb!
The next match up was a first round match in the AACW World Heavyweight Title Tournament between "Dr Death" Steve Williams and The Destroyer
The Destroyer advances to the second round in a hard fought, hard hitting match after the Intelligent Sleeperhold -Another outstanding match... The Destroyer dominated much of the early moments however Doc managed to come back and take the fight to the masked man...Doc hit Destroyer with multiple lariats as well as a Doctor Bomb but Destroyer would not stay down...finally after a missed turnbuckle charge The Destroyer managed to slip behind Doc and lock on the Intelligent Sleeperhold to get the win...after the match both men shook hands and Doc congratulated The Destroyer

AACW Showdown: Legends of Wrestling
The show opened with cameras backstage showing a limo pulling up, Gorilla and Jesse tried making guesses on who had arrived at the AACW Arena
The first match of the night was the rematch between Chris Candido and Virgil
Chris Candido (w. Tammy) defeated Virgil with a superplex -Another good match between the two with multiple counters, however this time Candido proved himself the better man this night
The next match up was a first round match in the Television Title tourny between "Cowboy" Bob Orton and Danny Doring
Bob Orton beat Danny Doring with the Superplex - Doring got his a** handed to him by Orton who looked rather impressive in this match, we will have to see how he does between the winner of the Harker Dirge and Koko B Ware match
The camera goes backstage once again just as the limo door opens and out steps... Sherri Martel!!! She walks into the hallway leading the the penthouse suite of the arena....
The first round match of the US Title tourny between Don Muraco and Curt Hennig was up next...
Curt Hennig dominated Don Muraco getting the quick win the a sleeper - Hennig looks to be a true threat in AACW as he made surprisingly short work of Muraco, one could definetly say that Hennig wrestled the "Perfect" match
After the commercial break Jesse Ventura tracked Sherri Martel down in the penthouse suite and asked why she was there...Martel announced that she has signed a contract with AACW and she is here to "scope the talent" She also stated she already has her eyes set on someone that would fit perfectly into her plans
Next up was another first round match in the Tag Team Title tournament between The Midnight Express and The Vachons
The Midnight Express (w. Jim Cornette) defeated The Vachons after Bobby Eaton pinned Mad Dog Vachon after the Rocket Launcher - Eaton and Condrey looked excellent tonight and kept Mad Dog from tagging out...some well timed interference from Jim Cornette and excellent double team work and this match was in the books
Antonino Rocca and Danny Hodge in a first round match for the World Heritage title was next up
Danny Hodge beat Antonino Rocco via the Oklahoma Side Roll -Awesome match! The pace of this match was very quick and both men gave it 110% many counters and reversals in this match, the World Heritage Title division looks like it will be a hot one with the high caliber matches thus far
The main event was a first round match for the AACW World Heavyweight Title tourny between Diamond Dallas Page and Giant Baba
Diamond Dallas Page defeated Giant Baba with the Diamond Cutter - Page was on a roll and just never stopped..Baba was on the defensive the entire match and after two straight Diamond Cutters this match was over...after the match Buff Bagwell stormed the ring and tried to blindside DDP, Page saw him coming and tackled him to the mat...both men brawled their way to the back as security tried to separate them
Monday Mayhem Lineup: (TV Title Round One) Harker Dirge vs. Koko B ware (US Title Round One) "Ravishing" Rick Rude vs. Konnan (AACW Tag Titles Round One) The Fabulous Kangaroos vs. Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens (w. Bobby Heenan) (World Heritage Round One) Ed "Strangler" Lewis vs. Rikidozan (AACW World Heavyweight Round One) Steve Corino vs. Antonio Inoki
