Gorilla and Jesse announce that a special grudge match has been signed tonight between DDP and Buff Bagwell due the brawl at the end fo Showdown...
The opening bout was the final first round match in the Television Title tourny between Harker Dirge and Koko B Ware
Koko B Ware defeated Harker Dirge with a cross bodyblock
- Dirge just couldnt get anything going in this one and the Birdman made sure he never did.
The next match up was Rick Rude squaring off against Konnan in the final first round match for the United States Title tourny
Rick Rude beat Konnan with the Rude Awakening
- These two fought like two pitbulls...Konnan came close to advancing but in the end Rude'a power won out and Konnan found himself on the business end of the Rude Awakening
Next was the final first round match in the Tag Team Title tournament between The Fabulous Kangaroos against Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens
The Fabulous Kangaroos dominated Bockwinkel and Stevens and got the duke when Costello pinned Stevens after the Boomerang
- Bockwinkel and Stevens, great singles competitors that they are were out of their element against the tag veteran Kangaroos
Up next was the final first round match in the World Heritage Title tourny....
Ed "Strangler" Lewis beat Rikidozan with the Strangler's Headlock
- Great match! Rikidozan dominated much of the early moments of the match and had The Strangler reeling with several Thunderous Chops, Lewis managed to fight back and lock on the Strangler's Headlock to advance in a hard fought match
Finally it was the final match of the first round in the World Heavyweight Title tourny
Antonio Inoki defeated Steve Corino with the Octopus Hold
- This was probably the best match of the WHC tournament, Corino was hungry for a win and put Inoki through some hell...at one point in the match Corino grabbed the house mic and nailed Inoki with it... Inoki was busted open and fell prey to Old School Expulsion! Inoki managed to kick out but took more punishment...finally Inoki made one hell of a comeback and attacked Corino's legs with brutal kicks...Inoki hit the Enzuigiri but Corino kicked out, Inoki locked on the Octopus Hold and would not let up until Corino finally submitted
In the main event...
Diamond Dallas Page beat Buff Bagwell with the Diamond Cutter
- These two brawled all over the ringside area when not inside the ring...however once again Bagwell found his shoulders on the mat for the three count after the Diamond Cutter
