I wonder if this is a record for the most posted in a fed forum thread BEFORE the fed actually starts... "Mr. Board of Directors, the PNW is and will continue to be a shining example of what the great legacy of territorial wrestling is/was/and always should be... The amount of attention we garner here only bears witness to this fact... We will now and always dance where angels fear to tread... Dance with us or feel the sting of the emerging greatness..." weirdjerod

wait no longer... (you will have to all excuse and bear with me from time-to-time, as I will occasionaly will be posting cards a day before or after they "actually" occur as I do not always have access to a computer and need to post when I can... thanx for your understanding... having said that...)
Thursday, Febrauary 1st from the Salem Armory
1) The Crusher V The Missing Link In a surprisingly close match-up, the Link came surprisingly close to defeating the Crusher before the Crusher was able to put away the victory with 2 Crusher Bolo's... time 8:24 ***1/2
2) The Kangaroos V The Goon Squad (Larry Hennig and Ray Stevens) The Goon Squad started strong and early with a vicious assault on Al Costello. A hot tag to Heffernan mad the difference as Roy was able to isolate and damage Stevens leg. A pier-six brawl in the middle of the ring and some timely distraction from Red Berry allowed Costello to lock in the Marble Bor Leglock for the win... time 13:48 ***
3) Don Leo Jonathan V Dr. D David Schultz This match started fast and furious and went outside the ring quickly and remained there until Schultz was d.q.'d for excessive use of a chair. After the match, Schultz was joined by Muraco and Orton to give DLJ a tripple spike piledriver outside the ring before the Crusher and Ricky Steamboat were able to run them off. DLJ was taken from ringside on a stretcher... time 3:09 *1/2
4) Yukon Eric V Joe LeDuc w/Candaian PittBull CPB distracted Eric right at the bell and was never able to get back in the match. LeDuc pummelled Eric everywhich way before getting the easy win with a pair of LegDrops... time 5:37 1/2
5) Billy Red Lyons and Ricky Steamboat V Don Muraco and Bob Orton A fantastic back-and-forth match (19 tkens combined!!!) which saw both teams in prime condition for a victory. A missed turnbuckle charge and the Dragon's quick heading off of Orton made the difference as Lyons was able to put Muraco down for the 3... time 21:49 ****1/2
6) Bret Hart V Maddog Vachon w/CPB This battle of former World Champions was a classic from the word go!! Vachon gained a series of near falls on Hart before Hart was able to turn it around and gain several near falls of his own. In the end, it came down to the timely distraction of CPB, which allowed Vachon to put Bret away with a Piledriver. After the match, Bret and CPB exchanged a series of verbal threats, but when Vachon moved in, CPB waved him off and left the ring with him, smiling... time 18:19 ****

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND
FROM THE DESK OF: WEIRDJEROD AND CANADIAN PITTBULL
"Due to the heinous attack on Don Leo Jonathan, Thursday night in Salem, he has suffered a minor concussion. Against doctors orders, he will be competing in both the battle royal and the tag team tournament on Saturday night at the Sports Arena. Due to an inability of the management team to come to a consensus on an appropriate punishment for the three responsible, there will be no fines or suspensions levied at this time. However, Mr.'s Schultz, Muraco and Orton have been put on notice that future behavior of this nature from "The Rat Pack" will be met with a swift suspension. Mr. Jonathan has also been informed that if his injuries appear to inhibit his performance Saturday night, he will be required to take the appropriate amount of time off to heal..."
At this time we would like to announce the bracketing for the Tag Team Tournament to take place Saturday night:
Missing Link and David Schultz V The Goon Squad DLJ, Yukon Eric V Muraco, Oton
Kangaroos V Steamboat, Red Lyons The Canadian Mafia V The Crusher and Bret Hart
In addition, all 16 wrestlers will be involved in the Battle Royal to crown the first Television Champion
Dick Murdoch will square off against Wahoo McDaniels and 2 old rivals return home to the PNW to settle an old score in a No Disqualification Match...
stay tuned

Bobby Heenan was seen talking to the Kangaroos today? ?? "Amidst the rumors circulating about the contact between the Kangaroos and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, we here at DWA:PNW attemted to contact Mr.'s Heffernan and Costello for their comments. They submitted the following statement: 'We have know Booby for many years now and truly enjoy his company and friendship. We won't waste our time trying to explain or justify this to anyone, as you American fans are so ignorant, you make up your minds before you ever hear or know any facts. We will speak with whom we want and desire at any point we choose and if the fans, the wrestlers OR the management have a problem with that, WE DON'T CARE!!!'"

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD, FROM THE PORTLAND SPORTS ARENA
weirdjerod "I'd like to take this opportunity to say something I never thought I'd get a chance to say.... WELCOME BACK TO THE HOUSE OF ACTION!!! Wow!!! I have to say, as I stand here, I start to wax a bit nostalgic..."
Canadian PittBull appears with another mic"well, wj, I've got no doubt as you stand there you'd like to wax something, but this isn't the time or the place. Keep your little emotions in check and let's get down to business."
wj "well, CPB, I guess this is as good a time as any to introduce the 8 teams that will be vieing for the PNW tag titles..."
The ring fills with the 8 teams as they are introduced...
wj "The Goon Squad!!" "The Missing Link and David Schultz!!" "The Fabulous Kangaroos!!" "Don Leo Jonathan and Yukon Eric!!" "Don Muraco and Bob Orton!!" "Air One!!" The Legends!!"
CPB "and of course, the first PNW Tag Team Champions...THE CANADIAN MAFIA!!!!! Joe LeDuc and Maddog Vachon!!!!!!"
As the teams exited the ring, 'Wild' Red Berry takes the microphone and makes the following announcement... "We need to get a coule of things straight and I mean real quick!!! First, Booby Heenan, you and I have always gotten along OK, but if you think you want to try and recruit my boys behind my back, we may have an issue!!! If you're just rekindling old friendships, great...but if you need a lesson, I'm sure we can settle this one-on-one at the Deuce's Wild!!!
Having said that, Mr Cornette, you lilly livered mama's boy!!!!!!! I want the fans here in Portland to see this... run the footage!!!"
On the Video Screen above the entry ramp, we see the following:
(Cornette)…now…I’ve got another issue to address…I’ve had several people tell me about comments made by this Pure Nuisance Wrestling in the upper Northwest…well now when they called Lawler “Queenie” and Dundee “Supershrimp”…I didn’t care…hell, I thought it was kinda’ funny ‘cause I don’t have any use for those morons either…but…when this “Wild” Red Berry dufus starts challenging me and the Midnight Express…then I just can’t hold my tongue…listen here, you pea-brained oaf…the Midnight Express is the greatest tag team in the history of wrestling…and no two-bit backyard promotion that holds shows for a lumberjack, 3 beavers and a duck…will ever get the better of Jim Cornette…you want a mach…well here we are…we’ll be glad to bash your brains in…if you have any…so why don’t you and your little hippity-hoppity tag team come down here to the South…God’s little acre…then we’ll see just how tough you flannel wearying sissies are…I’m not asking you to come…I’m begging…’cause you don’t tug on Superman’s cape…you don’t spit into the wind…you don’t pull the mask off of old Lone Ranger…and you DON’T mess around with Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express!
Berry:"I'll tell you what, Cornette, you're about to find out what everyone else already knows...The Kangaroos are the sinlge greatest team of all time... BAR NONE!!!! We'll be happy to come down that way and kick your a**, but first, why don't you bring your honky-tonkin, trailer trash self up here for a visit?!?! We'll gladly take you apart on your home turf, but first there's a lumberjack, 3 beavers and a duck that want to see us inviscerate you right here in Portland!!! I'l be waiting by my phone, Jim, please don't prove everyone right that told me you're a pussy!!!"
And now to the matches...
The following matches took place before the Television Taping began: 1) The Goon Squad mad quick work of Schultz and The Link as the Link never tagged in Dr. D. After about 3 minutes, Schultz walked away from ringside and te Link fell victim to The Axe and then a Piledriver... time 5:21 1/2*
2)In a fantastic back and forth Donnybrook, Orton and Muraco narrowly defeated the team of Yukon Eric and DLJ. After almost 17 minutes of back and forth action, Eric fell victim to an Asiatic Spike and, as Orton and DLJ brawled outside the ring, was finally put down for the 3-count... time 16:51 ****
3)In a much anticipated match-up, Air One (Steamboat and Lyons) were surprisingly dismantled by the Kangaroos. Steamboat was a non-factor as he was never able to tag in and was thwarted on several occasions from helping his partner by Red Berry. The Kangaroos hit 2 consecutive boomerangs to pull off the victory... time 7:26 *1/2 after the match, Steamboat went to help up Lyons, who shoved him hard to the ground. Lyons paused before leaving the ring and got in a verbal fight with CPB before returning to help up and shake Steamboats hand as they left the ring together...
4)In another absolute donnybrook, The Canadian Mafia was able to sqeak by the Legends (Bret Hart and the Crusher). The Legends controlled the early part of the match and seemed on the verge of putting it away early before CPB jumped up a ringside, distracting The Crusher. After that, the match would go back and forth several time with all 4 men gaining and being victim of near falls. Finally with only 2 minutes remaining in the 30 minute time limit, LeDuc was able to hit a 3rd Leg Drop on Hart for the 1-2-3, Crusher attempted to break the count, but was headed off by Vachon... time 28:17 ****1/2
5)Dick Murdoch took on long time rival Wahoo McDaniels. Murdoch hit the ring running, interupting the announcement of Wahoo and taking an early lead. McDaniels wouldn't stay down and would mount several fantastic offensive flurries. Neither man could sustain an advantage and as the action spilled out of the ring for the 6th time, Murdoch showed his frustration at not being able to keep the native-American legend down. After repeated warnings by the referee to watch his tactics and return to the ring, Murdoch was finally dq'd. The action didn't slow down at all and the 2 men continued brawling all the way to the dressng room before being broken up by security and other wrestlers... time 13:32 ***
The Television portion of the show picked in about the last 3:32 of the Murdoch/McDaniels match
6)In the first semi-final match-up, The Goon Squad were able to upend Muraco and Orton after isolating Muraco in the ring and working on what appeared to be a less than 100% shoulder. Hennig got the win with the dreaded Axe. After the match, Orton had to assist Muraco back to the Dressing Room... time 8:21 **1/2
7)In the second semi-final match-up, The Kangaroos were in control of the match and Red Berry had served as an effective counter to CPB, when Billy Red Lyons appeared down at ringside. After taking out Berry with a chair, he got in an argument with Al Costello, who missed the double team on Roy Heffernan. A Spike Piledriver put Heffernan down and LeDuc made sure Costello couldn't make the save. This may have been the upset of the year!!! time14:56 **
CPB "HAHAHA!!! Look at your Kangaroos... guess you boys should't have been so worried about Cornette and the Express... The Mafia is unstoppable!!! Now we just need to finish off the Goon Squad and we'll take our place as the number one tag-team here in Portland... sorry weirdjerod, looks like the Great White North is here to stay..."
wj "We'll see, the nights not over and either way, the Kangaroos have been guaranteed a title shot... even if you win, I wouldn't get too comfy..."
8)The next match featured to returning heroes to the PNW... Billy Jack Haynes and Rip "the Crippler" Oliver!!! In this no-dq bloodbath, both men were split open early. The action spilled out of the ring quickly and returned there only briefly througout the match. These 2 men tore into each other with a fierceness that had fans scrambling to get out of their way as they fought through the concession area, the restrooms, the parking lot and the dressing rooms. Billy Jack Haynes had finally fought Rip back to the ring and looked be setting up the Full Nelson, when David Schultz appeared and nailed Haynes with a tire iron, setting up an eas, but tainted, Rip Oliver pin. Schultz helped Rip back to the dressing room while Haynes had to be carried from the ring on Rip's old "Carry Out Service" stretcher... time 21:47 ***1/2
9)In the 16-man over the top Battle Royal to crown the first PNW T.V. champion, The last 4 men in the ring were: Ricky Steamboat, Ray Stevens, Yukon Eric and Joe LeDuc... As Leduc and Eric were battling in the corner, DLJ distracted LeDuc allowing Eric to oust him, much to the dismay of CPB...Ricky Steamboat missed a clothesline on Stevens and went sailing to the arena floor... a dazed Yukon Eric didn't see Ray Stevens and went sailing to the arena floor... Winner and NEW T.V. CHAMPION: RAY STEVENS!!!
order of elimination Link (by David Schultz) Schultz (by DLJ) Red Lyons and Muraco (by each other) Bret Hart (by Stevens) Vachon (by the Kangaroos) Costello (by LeDuc) Crusher and Heffernan (by LeDuc) Orton (by Steamboat) Hennig (by Steamboat)
10) In the finals for the PNW Tag Team Championship, The Goon Squad and The Canadian Mafia went toe-to-toe for just over 17 minutes of hard-hitting, no-nonsense action. Both teams were able to get several near falls and when CPB jumped up on the ring apron, Billy Red Lyons appeared to pull him down. While the referee was tied up getting Lyons away from ringside, CPB was able to distract Hennig while Vachon and LeDuc double teamed Stevens. Vachon with the Piledriver and LeDuc keeps Hennig at bay...1-2-3... time 17:41 ****
CPB "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! WINNERS AND NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS... THE CANADIAN MAFIA!!!! Now, all of you, rise to your feet for the singing of the Canadian National Anthem... Oh, Canada..."
Fade To Black...
